An error occurs when running Project Nelson for the first time under Windows Vista or 7, after which the program stops.
|Depends on||An error occurs when launching a program that requires elevated privileges from Project Nelson or File Manager "Nemo".|
|Bug report type||Fatal bug|
|Program affected||Project Nelson (v1.0 Build 019 and v1.0 Build 020)|
When you start Project Nelson for the first time, you get the following error:
File not found.
After clicking Continue, the loading screen will still show, but nothing happens.
The error occurs because the First Run Wizard requires elevated privileges, but the code used to run it doesn't take into account this.
|Steps to reproduce|
|Workaround 1||Hold down <Ctrl>, <Shift> and <Esc> keys and release them. When Task Manager appears, click on the New Task... button. Type in FirstRun.exe and click OK. Once you complete the First Run Wizard, switch to Task Manager and switch to the Users tab. Click your username and click Logout. When you log back in, you should no longer get the error message.|
|Workaround 2||Hold down <Ctrl>, <Shift> and <Esc> keys and release them. When Task Manager appears, switch to the Processes tab, select ProjectNelson.exe and click End Process. When a dialog pops up, click the End Process button. A dialog should appear reading "Windows detected that this program did not run correctly". Click Close, switch to Task Manager and switch to the Applications tab. Click the New Task button, type ProjectNelson.exe /s 1 in the text box and click OK. Close Task Manager. First Run Wizard should launch, and Project Nelson should load normally.|
|Status||FIXED in v1.0 Build 020 Update 1.|
